Clinical Overview
A biopsy is a medical procedure where a small sample of cells or tissue is removed for examination under a microscope. It is the definitive way to determine if a growth is benign (harmless) or malignant (cancerous).
Key Symptoms
A doctor may order a biopsy if a physical exam, X-ray, or ultrasound reveals a suspicious lump, mass, or abnormal tissue growth that requires further investigation.
Treatment Options
Most biopsies are performed using a thin needle (Fine Needle Aspiration) or a small incision under local anesthesia. The sample is then sent to our advanced Pathology lab for detailed analysis.
Prevention & Lifestyle
While biopsies cannot always be prevented, early detection through regular health screenings is the best way to ensure that any necessary biopsy is performed at the earliest possible stage.
