Brain Stroke Awareness

REQUEST CONSULTATION

Clinical Overview

An ischemic stroke occurs when the blood supply to part of the brain is interrupted or reduced, preventing brain tissue from getting oxygen and nutrients. It is a medical emergency.

Key Symptoms

Sudden numbness or weakness in the face, arm, or leg (especially on one side), confusion, trouble speaking, sudden vision changes, and loss of balance.

Treatment Options

Immediate medical intervention is vital. Treatments include clot-busting drugs (TPA) or mechanical thrombectomy. Early rehabilitation is key to recovering lost functions.

Prevention & Lifestyle

Manage high blood pressure, quit smoking, control diabetes, and maintain a healthy weight. Regular screenings for atrial fibrillation (irregular heartbeat) are also recommended.
